Kirinyaga University Alumni Association was founded on 2nd November, 2018 with an intention of bringing together and building strong professional networks for all the graduates of Kirinyaga University, Kirinyaga University College and Kirinyaga Technical Institute.

The first meeting was held on 29th September 2018 and the core agendas were discussion of the draft constitution and elections of officials. On this day the draft constitution was discussed and passed with minor corrections. Elections were held and four officials were elected into office.

The idea of forming the Association was initiated by the University with great help from the University Deputy Vice Chancellor, ASA, Professor Charles A. Omwandho and the Registrar Academic Affairs Mr. Wallace Kamau who spearheaded the formation of the Association. Mr. Patrick Mwangi was appointed as the Liaison Officer to reach out to all the graduates and held the office until the first elections were held on 29nth September 2019.

The process of registering the Association is ongoing.
